Your Pathway to a Career in Medicine

The Doctor of Medicine program at PHSU School of Medicine BVI offers a clear pathway to study in the BVIs for two years then apply to complete the final two years in the U.S.

Years 1 & 2

Pre-clinical preparation in Tortola, BVI

Years 3 & 4

Clinical rotations in U.S. or Puerto Rico*

*Students must speak Spanish to be considered for rotations in Puerto Rico

The first two academic years establish a solid pre-clinical base encompassing core disciplines and an introduction to clinical skills, behavioral science, and medical ethics. Our interactive and innovative curriculum helps prepare students for clinicals in core specialties during their third and fourth year, plus an additional five months of advanced specialty elective rotations.

With over 45 years of experience preparing tomorrow's healthcare leaders, PHSU is proud to open a medical school in our new international location in Tortola, BVI. This MD program is preliminarily accredited by the Accreditation Commission on Colleges of Medicine (ACCM) and offers a culturally-focused 4-year curriculum providing students with an ethnically diverse, scientifically-sound, culturally sensitive, innovative and tech-driven medical education.

PHSU officially announced their plan to open a new medical school in Tortola, BVI in early October. News of the Medical Doctor program, set to enroll 50 students in August 2025, spread quickly.
